ABOUT THE WORKSHOP Have you been tapped to be the stage manager of your school play or musical? Wonder what it is that a stage manager actually does? This three-hour workshop will help demystify the world of the stage manager for you and give you practical information and tips on how to carry out this critically important and highly responsible role. You’ll learn what the job of a professional stage manager entails, and how that translates to behind the scenes of a school show. You’ll find out what a good prompt book looks like (and what a “prompt book” is), tips on organizing your crew and interacting with the actors, and how the stage manager sets the tone for a smooth rehearsal and performance process.
